This is the new Blues’ 2014 Super Rugby jersey, the Auckland Blues’ new home top for the forthcoming SR season. The Blues had a mini revival of sorts in 2013 under new coach John Kirwan but were unlucky not to make the playoffs. For 2014, the Blues have signed the likes of Tony Woodcock, Jerome Kaino, Ma’a Nonu and cross code convert Benji Marshall, the last of which is here seen modelling the new Blues 2014 home jersey.
The change/alternate/away kit is white in colour and like the home one, contains the names of the domestic provinces that form the Blues franchise ( the Northland, North Harbour, Auckland that you can see inside the neck)
The new Blues 2014 home and away kits were released on October 30, 2013 by the club, who also announced that Luke Braid would be captaining the side next season. The jerseys are sponsored by BNZ, as can be seen in the pics below.

Quite nice. Hopefully Blues wont be the Highlanders of 2014.
Well, if the Blues are going to have a white away strip they might reconsider calling themselves ‘the blues’ especially as they will use that white strip against half a dozen teams who wear blue!
How about a hooped away jumper or just call themselves ‘Auckland’?
