BT Rugby have signed a multi million pound deal to become front of shirt sponsors of Scottish Pro12 clubs Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby. The new four year shirt sponsorship deal begins August 2013 and has been termed by the Scottish Rugby Union ( owners of both Glasgow and Edinburgh) as the biggest ever sponsorship deal in both clubs’ history.
The deal is intriguing because BT Rugby have found an indirect way to promote themselves on rivals Sky, who have the rights to telecast Pro12 and Heineken Cup matches involving both Glasgow and Edinburgh for the 2013/14 season.
BT had earlier wished to advertise its services on Sky, who promptly refused and the matter went to Ofcom, who ruled in Sky’s favour. Continue reading
The HSBC Waratahs are set to become the Volvo Waratahs next season onward after the automobile giant signed a two year deal to become principal shirt sponsor of the Sydney based Super 15 outfit. HSBC adorned the front of the NSW Tahs jersey for the last 12 years before declining to renew its contract this year. Volvo will be principal sponsors for the 2014 and 2015 Super Rugby seasons.
The Tahs had a very poor 2012 and improved in 2013 under new coach Michael Cheika, but still failed to qualify for the playoffs. However they did manage to snap up the versatile Israel Folau, who proved to be a resounding success in his first year in rugby union with the Tahs and made his Wallaby debut against the British and Irish Lions.

This is the new Montpellier rugby shirt 2013/14, French club Montpellier Herault’s new home jersey for the forthcoming Top 14 season. The Montpellier rugby kit 13/14 has been made by Puma and was officially unveiled on July 26, 2013 by MHRC.
The club finished 5th in the regular 2012-13 season but lost to Castres in the playoff quarterfinals.
They have added depth in midfield by acquiring the South African trio of JP Du Plessis, Wynand Olivier and Robert Ebersohn as well as versatile All Blacks star Rene Ranger for the 2013/14 season. Other notable signings include locks Jim Hamilton ( Gloucester) and Sitaleki Timani ( Waratahs)
