Edit31 October, 2014- St.Helens have unveiled a teaser video of the new O’Neills kits, looks they’ll be revealed on 8 November.

2014 Super League champions St.Helens have made an interesting switch, opting to partner with Irish kit makers O’Neills from the 2015 season. The news of the partnership was officially announced by Saints on 22nd October, 2014.

The new St.Helens O’Neills shirt deal is a three year one, and replaces their existing deal with ISC, with whom Saints have been associated with since 2011. O’Neills only made kits for Widnes in the recently concluded 2014 season. ISC were the dominant company for Super League kits in 2014, with as many as eight of the fourteen teams going with them for uniforms.

The switch does make sense, with O’Neills expected to deliver merchandise quicker owing to geographical proximity. This, by the way, is what ISC gave Saints for 2014.

The news is not great for Australia based ISC, with the rumour mills saying that they have also allegedly lost Wigan Warriors to Errea, with the England RL team also set to part company with them in 2015. Continue reading
