ABSA Springbok Shirt Sponsorship Deal to End

According to well placed sources in the South African media, consumer bank ABSA will not be extending their shirt sponsorship deal with the Boks. ABSA came on board as a major sponsor in early 2011, replacing Johannesburg based energy giant SASOL on a five year deal reportedly worth R100m per year. The contract also included sponsorship of the Blitzbokke (SA Sevens team)

ABSA also currently sponsor the Currie Cup and the Premier Soccer League in South Africa, and it is believed that they will give up Currie Cup sponsorship as well.

Wales Under Armour Contract extension- WRU to ink new £33m kit deal

Wales have agreed to a contract extension with Under Armour which will see the American firm supply apparel to the national team for another nine years. Under Armour first came on board as Welsh jersey manufacturers back in 2008, when they replaced Reebok, beating off competition from the likes of KooGa and Canterbury.

While their original deal was till 2011, Wales’ impressive RWC performance in New Zealand was enough for them to pen an extension. Continue reading
